Ride the Ride! Hike the Hike! Do One, or Do Both!
This Member* event starts the Day with a nice 29 mile "wandering" bike ride thru Escondido (see below). We then load-up our bikes, change into our Hiking/Walking gear, and DRIVE to DALEY RANCH (about 10 minutes from our Ride Finish). We then Hike about 5 miles (see below) on EASY Trails that feature Scenic Vistas and Peaceful Surroundings (no major climbing on either activity). Both--the Ride and the Hike--will be conducted at an Easy to Moderate pace.
After the Hike we'll head-over to Filippi's Pizza Grotto where we can Eat, Drink, and reward ourselves for the day's efforts! (optional / personal expense).
*The Ride portion is limited to Members Only except for 1st Time Guest Riders (normal policy).
The Hike and the Dining at Filippi's is OPEN to Everyone! (Hiking is NOT an Official FRCC activity and participants Hike at their own personal risk. We won't discuss the Dining...) Feel Free to only Ride, only Hike, only Eat, or any combol! Family Members (including non-members) WELCOME on the Hike & Eat segments!
1) You'll need appropriate attire for Hiking--especially good shoes! Tennis shoes will work, but hiking shoes are best (some of the trail surface can be slippery (loose material). A good HAT is suggested.
2) You'll need WATER with you on the hike--there is NO WATER available on the course. You may wish to have nutrition items with you during the Hike.
3) BIKE SECURITY is YOUR Responsibility--it is BEST if you place your bike INSIDE your LOCKED VEHICLE;
4) Both Activities are NO DROP--We Start Together and we'll Finish Together!
