2️⃣Routes!

Both are the SAME until Mile 7

🅿 Park at South End of Park, near Ball Fields / Play Area

Come Join us for our Member* Group ride.

OPTION #1: This HILLY route is challenging and scenic! Be ready to CLIMB! Kit Carson, legendary Frontiersman, starts us on our journey to Historic Old Town Poway.  We warm-up in Escondido—seeing the City and then some Rural backroads. We then go right past the start and head over Lake Hodges, into Rancho Bernardo, Sabre Springs, Scripps Ranch, and Poway.  After seeing the Historic Poway Park (do you like Trains?) we climb Espola Road and are rewarded with a LONG downhill (& some rollers) to the finish.

OPTION #2: A shorter and Easier route, This “Parks Tour” rolls with the Poway Group for 7 miles. Then it splits off and visits Mountain View, Jesmond Dene, and Felicita Parks (and fly-by of Woodland and Mulberry Parks!). You’ll have a good time!

*Non-Members may ride one "test" ride.

Note: Due to the wide-range of fitness and ability levels among cyclists, you should load the course onto your GPS device in case you become separated from the group (ahead OR behind!)

Ride Duration Time is Estimated

All Riders must be self-sufficient (nutrition, hydration, tools, tubes, etc.)

Ride Format
FRCC Rides may have different Groups:

● TEMPO - Brisk pace, 18-22 mph on flat terrain, Occasional Regrouping, Riders May Be Dropped if repeatedly losing contact.
● FITNESS - Endurance pace, 14-18 mph on flat terrain. No Drop with Regroupings as necessary.
● TOURING - Relaxed / Recovery pace, 12-16 mph on flat terrain. No Drop with Regroupings as necessary.

Groups Ride the Same Route and ride together for the first few miles. Members may choose to ride in any group. A rider that loses contact with a chosen group may be absorbed by the following Group IF THERE IS ONE. All Riders should have the route on their GPS device and be fully self-sufficient regarding navigation, roadside repair, nutrition & hydration.

Ride format is only available with sufficient attendance and leadership present.. The availability of a group MAY NOT BE KNOWN until the Ride Start.

No Drop: Group waits for riders with mechanicals, Red-Light “splits”, and occasional “gaps”, etc. Riders should, however, be able to maintain the listed average pace which is based upon flat terrain, without wind or other conditions.
